French Ham and Cheese Toast with Egg

Yield: 4 servings
4 x toasted bread slices
4 x cooked ham slices (thick)
4 slice swiss cheese
1 cup grated cheese (gruyere or mozarella)
1 tbsp butter
x pepper, for seasoning
4 tsp butter
4 large eggs
Procedures
  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  2. Spread butter on half of the bread slices. Place a slice of ham and swiss cheese on top.
  3. On the other half of the bread slices, sprinkle grated cheese and top with a dash of ground black pepper.
  4. Place all bread slices on a baking tray, then bake in the oven using top heat, until the cheese is bubbly (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Place the bread slice with grated cheese on the ham and cheese toast to make a sandwich.
  6. Panfry eggs in butter - sunny side up. Season the egg with salt and pepper, then carefully place on top of the cheese toast as shown in the picture.
  7. Arrange on serving plates.
